To continue a busy spring of travel, a dear friend got married in the sunshine state of Florida so once again bags were packed and we welcomed the 90 degree weather after a long Minnesotan winter. Our cohort of wedding attendees decided to make it a long weekend in Clearwater (although the wedding was in Orlando) and I stayed a day longer to venture around St. Petersburg just south of Tampa. I connected with some locals for a round-up of fun sights and recommendations that makes me long to return to this little haven of sunshine, beaches and a relaxed way of life.Read More
Ahh, the beloved trips to the PNW. Since my sister and her family live in BC (in the valley just east of Vancouver), we have the sheer pleasure of having an excuse to jump on a good flight deal to Seattle and head north to immerse ourselves in scenic mountains, “eh”s, and searching for tulip fields in this Dutch-influenced community.Read More
Viva Las Vegas! While much could be said for the Sin City, it was a true adventure to travel to Paradise, Nevada for 6 days for work - primarily by myself. Growing up, my two older sisters and I shared tight quarters in a two-bedroom house in South Minneapolis. What might have seemed like a recipe for endless sister quarreling was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. We didn't just need to spend time together, we always wanted to spend our time together. We vowed that when we were older, we'd live within blocks of one another because we couldn't imagine doing this crazy life alongside anybody else. My middle sister now lives across the river in St Paul and the eldest sister lives a mere 1800+ miles away in Abbotsford, BC. Not exactly within blocks of one another - but if I need to fly a few hours to see a sister, I love that it is to the beautiful Pacific Northwest!Read More
